What Pike Renewables Does

Pike Renewables builds the renewable generation and storage that utilities are adding to the grid. Drawing on Pike’s 80+ years of grid experience, our teams take solar, battery energy storage and electric vehicle charging projects from site identification, planning and design through construction, commissioning and grid integration.

We serve the nation’s largest public and investor-owned utilities, as well as municipal clients and developers. On site, our work ranges from civil crews preparing the land to transmission crews connecting finished facilities to the grid, backed by Pike’s safety program and the engineering, substation and transmission teams across 1 Pike.

What Pike Renewables Does in the Field

Renewable projects succeed or stall on the details between the site and the grid. Here's what that work involves.

Turnkey EPC

Engineering, procurement and construction under one contract. Pike Renewables manages a project from site identification and design through construction, commissioning and grid integration, so clients have one partner accountable for the whole job.

Site identification and planning

Evaluating and preparing sites for solar, storage or charging, including permitting, project coordination and the civil planning that keeps construction on schedule.

Civil and foundation work

Grading, trenching, backfill, concrete pads, rock excavation and the foundations that panels, batteries, inverters and chargers stand on.

Power, grounding and studies

Power and grounding systems, plus the soil resistivity and grounding studies that confirm a site can safely carry the equipment and connect to the grid.

Equipment installation

Solar panels, battery systems, inverters, transformers, combiner boxes, 35 kV underground collection systems, AC switchboards and SCADA controls, installed and tested.

Grid integration

The interconnection work that brings a renewable facility online: medium-voltage and substation connections, switchyards and transmission ties to the utility grid.

Testing and commissioning

Inspecting, testing and starting up each system before handover, with as-built drawings and closeout support.

Restoration

Returning sites to their finished condition after construction, from asphalt and landscaping at charging stations to final site cleanup.
